Dick Rumelt has often been described as a strategists’ strategist, someone who can reduce the most complex problems to their essence and use strategic choices to make the most significant difference in the outcome. He has a new book out, “The Crux” in which he debunks a lot of the activity that unfortunately takes the place of strategy in so many organizations. A better alternative, he suggests is to find the point of greatest leverage – the crux – and solve that problem. I’m looking forward to our conversation.
